Amie Stevense

Director, Talent Development & Engagement

What were you most excited about joining Mondu and now that you are seeing the company grow?

To be totally honest, there was one core reason I felt truly excited to join Mondu. As someone working in the People space – though perhaps an ideal for many people – it was important for me to lead the department of talent development and engagement in a company where I could respect the core values and behaviours of its leaders.

How would you describe your teams mission at Mondu?

My team’s mission is to ensure that the talents we’ve been successful in hiring can fulfill and expand on their potential, to optimally drive forward the overarching Mondu mission.

What is the most fulfilling part of your role at Mondu?

There are a number of ways to fulfill the above team mission, and like in any start-up, a million things that should have been worked on ‘yesterday’ already. Many initiatives we work on can take months to come to fruition. So, I tend to get excited by the small stuff. Is this person’s CV better today than when they joined Mondu? It’s incredibly fulfilling to see someone succeeding here. And by success, I mean that they are learning something new.

What is a fun fact about you?

I’m not sure it’s ‘fun’ but I’m quite handy with car mechanics! When I was younger, I had a 12-year old Renault Clio. To save money, every time it broke down (almost weekly), I’d repair it in my Dad’s garage with the help of a Haynes repair manual!

I was super excited to enter in a new market that has such a huge potencial and Mondu is growing and evolving really fast to conquer this new market.

To interact with so many people from such different backgrounds and origins. Mondu has employers from all over the world and from many different industries.

What is a fun fact about you?

I already did the A1 level of german 3 times. I started learning german 8 years ago and since then, I have been on an up and down with this language. Already got to the B1 level, but stopped practising and went back to the A1 level once more.

If you have a useless talent, what is it?

I can push my pointer finger back until it touches the back of my hand. Never found anyone who could do this, but never used it to anything other than impress strangers in a bar.

If you relocated to Berlin, what's your favourite part of living in the city?

The city feels very international, I met people from many different countries and continents. This environment makes me feel super comfortable being an expat.

Daria Kameneva

Sr. Software Engineer

What were you most excited about joining Mondu and now that you are seeing the company grow?

Joining a fresh startup and getting a chance to build products from scratch: brainstorming with my team, creating something unique and seeing it grow and cover more intricate details of business processes is incredibly motivating.

How would you describe your teams mission at Mondu?

Turning ideas into reality. Engineering to me is all about that and it works a little bit like magic – you can make pretty much anything happen. This is what has been fueling me my entire career. At Mondu, the dreams are big and sorcerers have a lot of work to do! *rolls up sleeves*

What is a fun fact about you?

I think I was 26 years old when I realised that Istanbul is the same city as Constantinople. I have only come across the song later. I’m a good example of how some people are only smart in very particular areas 😀

Senior Sales Manager

What were you most excited about joining Mondu and now that you are seeing the company grow?

We have a really diverse workforce here and although we are only active in the German market so far, we have people from all over the world. Besides, it was appealing for me to be part of something big right from the start.

How would you describe your teams mission at Mondu?

Even if it is Sales, it is not Sales for me. It’s more about showing companies that processes can be simplified and that they can get a solution through Mondu that is indispensable in the B2C market. We work together in partnership, because we will only be successful if our partners are.

Who is your idol and why?

I don’t have one idol, I think you can take the good from many people and implement it for yourself. So a main part of the family is my role model. My parents, who support me in everything, or my twin sister, who helps people in the social sector and so on.

What is the most exciting part of your role at Mondu?

Of course, to win a new partner and prove to them that our solution is really as good as we say it is.

What is a fun fact about you?

In my spare time I do male ballet in the carnival club and stand on stages with up to 800 people and don’t take myself seriously.

If you have a useless talent, what is it?

I can turn my foot completely backwards so that it points in the other direction.

If you relocated to Berlin, what's your favourite part of living in the city?

Senior Talent Acquisition

What were you most excited about joining Mondu and now that you are seeing the company grow?

The most exciting aspect was joining a team where all members were equally excited and motivated to grow. Growth is often talked about as a very impersonal occurrence, that magically happens. In reality, growth is teamwork, trust, and true motivation of making a difference. I joined for that, and I’m seeing that! That is rare!

How would you describe your teams mission at Mondu?

Build the best teams, period! The best teams come together when you know where you want to be and what you need to get there. So far, it seems that in our team, everyone knows where we want to be, and what kind of people we need for that.

Who is your idol and why?

P!nk. She is strong, she is determined, and she doesn’t care about the ney-sayers! She was a true inspiration for me back when I was a teenager, and she still is. I mean would you fly around above thousands of fans, doing acrobatic tricks and singing, and have your two kids and husband with you on tour whilst supporting her ever-growing community?! The energy and attitude are relentless, and that’s what I’d like to be!

What is the most exciting part of your role at Mondu?

Seeing the direct impact my work is making on the business. As long as I make the right decisions, everyone else along the line will benefit. I see that I carry a heavy load of responsibility, and that is a great feeling to have in a company.

What is a fun fact about you?

I used to DJ and co-created a series of parties with my good friends called Beach Babe Bonanza. It was all about endorsing female DJs in Estonia. I am still very passionate about music, and am in the process of building my own vinyl collection!

If you have a useless talent, what is it?

I remember most of the song lyrics from the 90s and early 00s. You want to sing an obscure 90s hit, you let me know!

If you relocated to Berlin, what's your favourite part of living in the city?

Schöneberg – it’s beautiful and gay. I’d share my morning coffee with a bear any day of the week, rather than with a P-Berg mom who only buys bio, because she can!
